Controller – Consumer Industry Finance Leader

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Controller to lead and scale the accounting and finance function of our fast‑growing consumer‑focused business. The role combines strategic financial leadership with hands‑on operational responsibility, partnering closely with executive leadership and key clients.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, revenue recognition, inventory and cost accounting.
• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual close processes ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Maintain compliance with GAAP and all regulatory requirements, and develop internal controls and financial policies.
• Provide financial planning, forecasting and strategic analysis to support growth initiatives.
• Manage reporting on consumer revenue streams, margins, pricing models and promotional impacts.
• Analyze sales performance, channel profitability and customer trends.
• Serve as financial liaison for key clients and partners, delivering clear insights to non‑financial stakeholders.
• Support audits, investor inquiries and board reporting as needed.
• Lead, mentor and develop a high‑performing accounting team, recruiting top talent and establishing scalable processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
• 8‑12+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience.
• 4+ years in a Controller or senior finance leadership role.
• Experience in consumer‑focused, retail, e‑commerce or CPG environments.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls and audit processes.
• Proven ability to lead teams and scale finance functions in high‑growth settings.
