Cyber Security Engineer – Authentication (Senior)

About the role

BASF is looking for a Senior Cyber Security Engineer specialized in authentication to join its Madrid team. You will help design, build and operate secure, user‑friendly authentication services that protect critical applications across cloud and on‑premises environments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and operate scalable authentication solutions for a global IT landscape.
• Design, develop and maintain full‑stack web applications and secure APIs.
• Build micro‑services and data‑driven applications following secure‑by‑design principles.
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for testing, deployment and automation.
• Optimize systems for performance, reliability and maintainability.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues across the technology stack.
• Collaborate with product owners, architects and global teams.
• Identify and automate repetitive tasks to improve engineering productivity.
• Explore practical AI use cases to enhance the team’s capabilities.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in cyber security and authentication engineering.
• Hands‑on expertise in designing and operating secure authentication services.
• Strong architectural thinking and ability to work in a global, high‑impact environment.
