Data Security Analyst – Insider Threats

About the role

Join BASF Digital Hub Madrid as a Data Security Analyst Specialist focused on insider threats. You will work within the Device and Data Security Team to design, implement and continuously improve technical solutions that protect sensitive business data and reduce cyber risk.

Key responsibilities

• Design, evaluate, implement and continuously improve technical solutions for data protection.
• Enhance classification, labeling, protection, and monitoring of sensitive data throughout its lifecycle.
• Automate security tasks to optimize processes and improve reporting accuracy.
• Coordinate with internal Cyber Security teams to maintain consistent, risk‑informed data handling procedures.
• Collaborate with business partners to align security capabilities with their requirements.
• Present technical progress and risk‑mitigation outcomes to management in business‑focused metrics.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of data protection concepts and insider‑threat detection.
• Experience working in cross‑functional teams and communicating technical information to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Ability to drive operational excellence and propose innovative security perspectives.

Required skills

• Data classification, labeling and protection techniques.
• Security automation and scripting.
• Knowledge of cyber‑security best practices and standards.
