Financial Controller – Spain

About the role

We are seeking a Financial Controller to lead the financial close, statutory accounting and tax compliance for two Spanish entities. The role is operational, responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance and accurate group reporting while partnering with local management.

Key responsibilities

• Own the monthly, quarterly and annual close, preparing P&L, balance sheet and cash‑flow statements.
• Perform variance analysis against budget and forecasts.
• Coordinate statutory accounts under Spanish GAAP and manage external audits.
• Handle corporate income tax, VAT (including EU cross‑border) and withholding tax compliance.
• Forecast and monitor cash‑flow, track OPEX, accruals and provisions.
• Support budgeting and forecasting cycles as a finance business partner.
• Prepare and execute payment orders, manage online banking platforms and daily liquidity planning.
• Maintain internal controls, audit‑ready documentation and support ERP processes (SAP).

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in financial controlling.
• Strong background in Spanish statutory accounting and tax compliance.
• Experience in multinational or group environments.
• Fluent in Spanish (native) and English (spoken and written).
