In-House Counsel (Legal & Data Protection)

About the role

Marfeel is looking for an experienced In‑House Counsel to join its Barcelona office. The lawyer will support the fast‑growing SaaS company by handling contracts, ensuring regulatory compliance and advising on data‑protection and AI governance matters. The position can be taken on a part‑time or full‑time basis.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate client, partner and vendor contracts, maintaining a central contract database.
• Prepare and update internal policies, terms of service, SLAs, privacy notices and other legal documentation.
• Provide general legal advice on corporate governance, regulatory compliance and risk management.
• Assist in resolving disputes and delivering strategic counsel to senior management.
• Act as the internal point of contact for GDPR and data‑protection queries, working with external DPOs.
• Develop and maintain AI governance frameworks, conduct risk assessments and monitor emerging AI regulations.

Required profile

• Law degree and a valid licence to practice law in Spain.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a law firm or in‑house legal department.
• Strong knowledge of corporate law, contract law and regulatory compliance.
• Fluent English (spoken and written).
• High ethical standards, independent work style and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
