Legal Counsel – Madrid

About the role

Alstom is seeking a full‑time Legal Counsel to join its Madrid team. You will work closely with contract managers, project managers and other business units, providing senior legal support across a wide range of transport and infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Provide senior legal advice on issues arising with customers, partners and subcontractors.
• Prepare, review and negotiate contracts and other legal documents while managing risk.
• Support claim management, dispute settlement and the proactive handling of litigation or arbitration.
• Conduct contractual and legal evaluation of tender documents, especially public tenders.
• Assist business units in all contractual matters, ensuring compliance with applicable laws.

Required profile

• Law degree (Master in business law is a plus).
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a corporate environment or law firm.
• Experience with public tenders; knowledge of Portuguese law is an advantage.
• Excellent English proficiency and native‑level Spanish.
