Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Hotel Maria Cristina is seeking a proactive Maintenance Technician to respond to guest repair requests, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure the smooth operation of all building systems. The role requires independent work with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of safety and service.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to guest repair requests promptly and communicate resolutions.
• Carry out preventive maintenance, cleaning, lubrication, and visual inspections of tools, equipment, and machinery.
• Identify, locate, and operate shut‑off valves for equipment and building systems.
• Maintain maintenance inventory, requisition parts and supplies as needed.
• Document daily activities and hand over shift information using approved communication tools.
• Perform mid‑level troubleshooting of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems.
• Use Lockout/Tagout procedures before any maintenance work.
• Assist with surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood‑trim repairs.
• Program televisions and carry out general housekeeping and engineering duties.

Required profile

• Proficiency in at least one of the following: air‑conditioning/refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic controls, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicle maintenance, energy conservation, or general building management.
• Solid knowledge of safe hand‑tool and power‑tool usage.
• Basic ability to repair or replace PVC and copper pipe, including soldering.
• Capability to train and mentor junior engineers.
• Willingness to assume Engineer‑on‑Duty responsibilities, including rounds and readings.
• Commitment to follow all safety, security, and company policies.
