Product & Consumer Protection Compliance Specialist

About the role

Openbank, the digital bank of the Santander Group, is looking for a Product & Consumer Protection Compliance Specialist based in Madrid. You will help define, implement and oversee the product governance and consumer protection framework, ensuring that banking products and services meet all regulatory and conduct requirements throughout their lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Provide regulatory advice and support to product, business and distribution teams for the Spanish market.
• Participate in the product approval process, assessing regulatory and conduct risks.
• Ensure compliance with consumer protection standards during design, approval, commercialization and post‑sale phases.
• Manage advertising controls for all marketing materials produced by internal teams.
• Monitor regulatory developments and update internal policies accordingly.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to embed compliance into product development.

Required profile

• Degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
• Proven experience in compliance, product governance or consumer protection within the banking sector.
• Strong knowledge of Spanish banking regulations and conduct principles.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
