QA Engineer – Hybrid – Madrid

About the role

You will join a cross‑functional DevOps team to ensure high‑quality web applications that support BASF Coatings services for internal and external users. Working in an agile environment, you will focus on test automation, risk‑based testing and continuous delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Define risk‑based test strategies and design automated test solutions for functional, regression and integration scenarios.
• Develop, maintain and integrate automated tests using frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium and Cucumber/Gherkin.
• Validate APIs and web applications with tools like Postman and SOAP UI.
• Collaborate closely with developers, product owners and designers to clarify acceptance criteria and improve testability.
• Participate in CI/CD pipelines to enforce quality gates and provide fast feedback.
• Document test plans, cases, results and defects in a structured, transparent manner.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in software quality assurance or test automation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven ability to create and maintain test documentation and to identify and report defects.
• Experience working with cloud‑based environments and service‑oriented or micro‑service architectures is a plus.
