Secondary PE Teacher

About the role

The British School of Barcelona is seeking an experienced Secondary Physical Education Teacher to join its City campus in September 2026. The role is permanent, full‑time and will involve teaching PE (and potentially Science) across Key Stage 3, IGCSE and the IB Diploma Programme.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess high‑quality PE lessons for secondary students.
• Contribute to the development of the PE curriculum and extracurricular sport programmes.
• Collaborate with colleagues in Science and other departments to support interdisciplinary projects.
• Maintain safeguarding standards and promote a safe, inclusive learning environment.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development and school events.

Required profile

• Qualified teacher with experience teaching Physical Education at secondary level.
• Demonstrated ability to teach across Key Stage 3, IGCSE and IB frameworks.
• Strong commitment to student welfare, safeguarding and inclusive practice.
• Excellent communication skills in English; additional language skills are a plus.

Required skills

• Curriculum planning and assessment for PE.
• Knowledge of IGCSE and IB Diploma PE specifications.
• Ability to organise and lead school sport events and clubs.
