Senior AI Specialist – IT Support Automation

About the role

Join the BASF Digital Hub in Madrid as a Senior AI Specialist focused on transforming IT support through intelligent automation. You will design, develop, and deploy production‑ready AI solutions that empower end‑users with self‑service capabilities and enhance data‑driven insights across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement AI solutions that automate IT support processes, extending the Smart Integrated Assistant (SIA) or creating new tools.
• Build and integrate AI components across the full technology stack, including machine‑learning services, APIs, and front‑end applications.
• Develop, test, and deploy machine‑learning models using CI/CD pipelines, GitHub, and containerized environments.
• Collaborate with Product Owners and other stakeholders to ensure successful implementation and integration.
• Monitor emerging AI frameworks, LLM APIs, orchestration tools, and ITSM automation trends, evaluating and integrating new technologies as appropriate.
• Mentor colleagues, share best practices, and drive continuous improvement in AIOps and generative‑AI solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience designing, developing, and deploying AI/ML solutions in enterprise IT environments.
• Proven expertise with Large Language Model APIs, agentic AI frameworks, and voice‑bot development.
• Strong analytical reasoning and ability to troubleshoot complex issues using support data.
• Proactive attitude and passion for staying current with AI advancements.
