Senior Software Engineer - Cloud Infrastructure

About the role

The Cloud Infrastructure Engineering team at ClickHouse builds the core data‑plane services that power ClickHouse Cloud. As a Senior Software Engineer you will design, deploy and operate a highly available, multi‑cloud platform that delivers a reliable managed ClickHouse experience.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and implement a robust, scalable, distributed infrastructure across multiple public clouds.
• Automate cloud resource management and build cloud‑native platforms using IaC tools.
• Collaborate with core database and security teams to deliver a secure SaaS offering.
• Develop routing, traffic, and service‑mesh components to improve reliability and scalability.
• Continuously improve availability, performance, and cost efficiency following best practices.

Required profile

• 5+ years of software development experience building fault‑tolerant, distributed systems.
• Strong problem‑solving skills with production debugging expertise.
• Excellent communication and ability to work in a global, remote‑first team.
• Ownership mindset and passion for efficiency, scalability and data governance.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Go, C++, Java or similar OOP languages.
• Experience with AWS, Azure or GCP and IaC tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Hands‑on knowledge of Kubernetes, Envoy, Istio and service‑mesh concepts.
• Understanding of networking (VPN, firewalls, load balancers) and cloud security (PKI, certificate infrastructure, zero‑trust).
