Software Engineer – Backend (Java/Kotlin)

About the role

CloudPay is looking for an energetic and collaborative Software Engineer to help shape, build, and maintain the customer experience on its global payroll platform. You will work with a diverse, worldwide team, translating business needs into reliable, high‑performing solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze business and technical requirements and design scalable solutions.
• Develop new backend capabilities using Java 17+ and Kotlin within the Spring/Spring Boot ecosystem.
• Provide ongoing technical support and troubleshoot production issues.
• Maintain high‑quality code through standards, code reviews, refactoring, and mentorship.
• Identify, diagnose, and resolve performance, functionality, or quality challenges.
• Create and maintain clear documentation for new features and system components.
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies to deliver user‑ready functionality.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional experience developing backend applications.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Highly collaborative team player comfortable in cross‑functional environments.
• Self‑driven with strong analytical thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
