Transport Coordinator – Ocean Freight

About the role

The Transport Coordinator supports daily transport operations within DHL's 4PL Supply Chain network, acting as the main interface between DHL, customers, carriers, and suppliers. The position focuses on efficient execution of ocean freight flows, shipment monitoring, exception handling, and data accuracy to meet customer requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute day‑to‑day transport activities for inbound, outbound and empty container movements.
• Monitor shipments, identify and resolve exceptions across the ocean freight network.
• Serve as the first point of contact for transport‑related enquiries from supply‑chain partners.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to deliver integrated transportation solutions.
• Support Freight Bill Audit (FBA) processes and related operational tasks.
• Ensure compliance with operational standards, processes and data‑quality requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year hands‑on experience in Ocean Freight transport operations (booking, shipment follow‑up, documentation handling, exception management).
• Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving ability and capacity to work under time pressure.
• Proactive, self‑sufficient and team‑oriented mindset.
• Fluent in Spanish and English, both written and spoken.
• Education in Logistics, Supply Chain or a related field (Bachelor’s or Master’s degree).

Required skills

• Ocean Freight transport operations (booking, documentation, exception management).
• Use of Transport Management Systems (TMS) and Order Management Systems (OMS).
• Knowledge of Oracle Transportation Management (OTM) – an advantage.
• Basic understanding of regulatory and customs principles.
