Airport Services Manager – Barcelona

About the role

The Airport Services Manager supports the Barcelona (BCN) station, directing and coordinating all airport functions and overseeing daily operations at Barcelona Airport. You will lead a team of contractors and insourced staff to deliver a safe, first‑class experience for airline customers while managing operational performance.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and promote a positive Health & Safety culture in line with company policies.
• Manage direct contractors, insourced staff and day‑to‑day airport operations.
• Drive overall airport performance and work with the General Manager and Regional Management to meet key operational metrics.
• Champion excellent customer service and ensure all personnel are properly trained.
• Conduct contractor briefings, coordinate station audits and represent American Airlines with authorities and contractors.
• Resolve operational queries, conduct risk assessments and oversee safe systems of work.
• Attend management and regional meetings as required.
• Organise quarterly Emergency Procedures drills.
• Coordinate new‑hire training, trainer accommodation and station readiness for high‑season traffic.
• Oversee contracted security measures and escalate security issues to corporate security.
• Lead and manage the airport team, ensuring safety and security compliance.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing airport or large‑scale transportation operations.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage contractors and internal staff.
• In‑depth knowledge of health, safety and security regulations.
• Ability to work closely with senior management and external authorities.
• Experience conducting risk assessments and emergency drills.
