Architect

About the role

AECOM Buildings + Places is looking for Architects for immediate employment in its Madrid office. You will join a proactive, multidisciplinary team working on projects across several geographies, taking part in the full project life cycle from early proposals through planning, execution and closure, under the direct supervision of a Project Lead.

Key responsibilities

• Space planning, block planning and adjacencies in coordination with the building program
• Prepare and revise documentation such as site plans, floor plans, elevations, sections and details
• Coordinate structural, mechanical and electrical systems with the design intent
• Help evaluate and select building systems and materials
• Attend project coordination meetings with internal team members and external consultants
• Apply building codes and regulations of other agencies
• Take part in preparing specifications and basic cost estimates
• Implement sustainable design principles
• Support the Project Lead with presentation materials, take part in design critiques and pin-ups, and assist with site analysis, concept research and precedents

Required profile

• Architectural Master's degree
• 5 years of experience in a similar position
• Well organised, able to manage time and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to supervise and coordinate small teams
• Business English proficiency; other languages desirable
• All candidates must submit a portfolio with their CV

Required skills

• Advanced Revit (essential), plus Rhino, AutoCAD and Adobe Suite
• Design and graphics skills
• Knowledge of space programming, contract documents (detailing, specifications, production management, design production) and contract administration
