CIB Sales – EAF Associate

About the role

Santander Corporate & Investment Banking is seeking an Associate for its Global Export & Agency Finance team, based in the Madrid area. The role supports the origination, structuring, and execution of Export Credit Agency (ECA) backed financing transactions worldwide, working closely with clients, ECAs and internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior team members in originating and executing ECA‑covered financing deals across multiple geographies.
• Support business development activities, including client pitches, opportunity screening and coordination with bankers and ECAs.
• Drive internal coordination with Risk, Legal, Compliance, Syndication, Middle Office, Project Finance and other relevant functions.
• Prepare high‑quality marketing, credit and internal documentation with strong analytical content and professional presentation.
• Coordinate transaction execution through internal approval stages, ensuring timely sign‑off from business committees, risk, and legal.

Required profile

• Highly motivated and analytical individual capable of thriving in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong academic background, preferably in finance, economics, business or a related field.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with clients and external counterparties.
• Proactive attitude with a responsible approach to risk management.
