Clinical Study Data Lead - Barcelona

About the role

Novartis is hiring a Clinical Study Data Lead for its Barcelona Gran Via office, within Clinical Data Operations, Global Clinical Operations. The role is hybrid, with an expectation of 12 days per month onsite, and relocation support is not provided. It suits an experienced clinical data management professional with strong operational leadership and the ability to influence cross-functional teams. The salary range is €46,300 to €86,100 per year.

Key responsibilities

• Lead clinical data management across multiple assigned trials, delivering high-quality, timely and compliant data outputs.
• Define and drive trial-level data strategies aligned with program objectives, data standards and regulatory expectations.
• Oversee end-to-end data management, from data collection and database design through cleaning, review and database lock readiness.
• Represent Clinical Data Management in Clinical Trial Team and Data Quality Team forums, influencing decisions and resolving data topics.
• Identify and manage data risks, dependencies and cross-trial issues through proactive mitigation, root cause analysis and timely escalation.
• Reinforce Quality by Design, audit readiness and consistent application of standards across trials.
• Share insights and lessons learned to strengthen decision-making and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in life sciences, computer science or a related field; postgraduate qualification beneficial.
• Proven experience managing clinical trial data and driving data strategy across multiple studies, ideally 5-8 years in clinical data management.
• Strong knowledge of clinical trial methodology, GCP and medical terminology.
• Demonstrated leadership, collaboration, risk identification and stakeholder influence in global teams.
• Experience mentoring colleagues and sharing knowledge.
