Medical Manager Immunology

About the role

Novartis is looking for a Medical Manager Immunology to join its Medical Affairs team in Barcelona. The role helps shape and execute the Medical Affairs strategy within Immunology, providing scientific and medical expertise across the organisation. You will work with internal and external stakeholders to generate and share scientific insights, support clinical research and build scientific engagement with healthcare professionals and key opinion leaders.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development, implementation and execution of Medical Affairs plans in line with the therapeutic area and product strategy
• Answer medical and scientific enquiries promptly, including developing standard response documents where appropriate
• Contribute to clinical trials and research activities, and support the initiation and oversight of clinical studies
• Contribute to the country strategy for Non-Interventional Studies (NIS) and Investigator-Initiated Trials (IITs)
• Build and maintain scientific dialogue with KOLs, healthcare professionals and external stakeholders
• Coordinate the medical review and approval of locally developed medical and promotional materials, and tailor global/regional materials to local needs
• Share medical insights with Pharmacovigilance, Regulatory Affairs, Market Access, Quality Assurance, Commercial and Brand teams
• Identify risks, develop mitigation plans and support internal controls, while ensuring compliance with Ethics and Compliance requirements
• Report technical complaints, adverse events and special cases within 24 hours, and support marketing sample distribution where applicable

Required profile

• Scientific, medical or healthcare education
• Experience in Medical Affairs, medical or scientific functions or a related pharmaceutical environment
• Strong scientific knowledge and ability to interpret and communicate complex medical and clinical information
• Experience engaging with healthcare professionals and scientific stakeholders
• Ability to turn scientific insights into input for Medical Affairs strategy
• Strong cross-functional collaboration, communication and stakeholder management skills
• Desirable: previous immunology experience, experience with clinical studies, NIS or IITs, and experience in a matrixed pharmaceutical environment

• Base salary range of 53,300 to 98,900 EUR per year, depending on skills, competencies and experience
