CYP Assistant – Retention Bonus Role

About the role

The CYP Assistant works directly with children and youth, ensuring they are engaged, safe, and supported while participating in program activities. This position focuses on fostering social development, healthy choices, and school‑readiness skills in a structured, supervised environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement daily schedules and activity plans that reflect the individual needs of participants.
• Deliver curriculum‑based and spontaneous activities that address physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development.
• Prepare, arrange, and maintain indoor and outdoor activity areas, including setting up displays and managing supplies.
• Supervise children and youth during indoor, outdoor, and field‑trip activities, ensuring compliance with DoD, NAF Component, and local installation policies.
• Communicate with parents and staff, incorporating special instructions such as dietary or physical requirements.
• Support children with special needs as directed by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Ability to work with children and youth in a safe, nurturing manner.
• Strong organizational skills for managing schedules, supplies, and documentation.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with participants, parents, and team members.
• Commitment to following safety, health, and nutrition guidelines.

Required skills
