DevOps Engineer – Data Virtualization

About the role

We are an international technology services company seeking a DevOps Engineer to join a stable, international data virtualization project in Madrid. You will ensure the performance, stability, and cost efficiency of our Dremio‑based data access platform while collaborating with data engineers, analysts, and infrastructure teams.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor Dremio clusters, services, jobs and underlying infrastructure; manage L2/L3 incidents to meet RTO/RPO targets.
• Automate deployments using CI/CD pipelines; standardize DEV, PREPROD and PROD environments.
• Optimize query performance, size and tune clusters, manage caching, reflections and query acceleration.
• Build observability dashboards (Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace) and implement alerting and continuous improvement processes.
• Deploy and manage the platform on Kubernetes/OpenShift; integrate with data lakes (S3, HDFS) and support infrastructure providers.
• Analyze infrastructure and product costs, recommend auto‑shutdown, sizing and scheduling for cost efficiency.
• Support data teams in building virtualized lakehouses, implement data usage controls, and improve pipelines with tools such as SAS, Dataiku, Power BI and Tableau.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of hands‑on experience in DevOps or production support.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail and a production‑mindset.
• Ability to collaborate with multiple data teams and stakeholders.
• Service‑oriented, autonomous and capable of challenging existing architectures.
• English level B2 or higher.
