Director of Product Management, Observability

About the role

Elastic is hiring a Director of Product Management for its Observability product, which owns the data ingestion layer called Streams. Streams collects data from any source, processes and routes it, and stores it in Elasticsearch or the customer's own object storage, built on open standards such as OpenTelemetry and Prometheus. The Director leads the PM team behind Streams and makes the platform the easiest way to bring data in, for every solution and customer.

Key responsibilities

• Own the strategy and roadmap for data collection, ingestion, processing and routing, and the integrations framework.
• Define and track KPIs focused on product and feature adoption.
• Partner with Observability, Security and Search product leaders so everyone can leverage a shared service.
• Make data ingestion self-service, with time-to-first-data measured in minutes.
• Lead a team of distributed product managers and enable them to deliver measurable outcomes.
• Drive roadmap priorities by working with customers, internal teams and the community.
• Work with engineers and designers to scope and define compelling features.
• Enable sales, marketing and partners with clear messaging and positioning.

Required profile

• 10+ years in product management, including 4+ years leading PM teams in data infrastructure, observability or data pipelines.
• Experience shipping SaaS products with usage-based pricing and building platform capabilities shared by several product lines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Required skills

• Deep technical fluency in telemetry ingest: OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, log processing, routing and agent management.
• Familiarity with the Elastic Stack is a plus.

• Base salary only, with no variable component; typical range €100,500 to €159,000.
