Energy Commodity Manager

About the role

Exide Technologies is seeking an Energy Commodity Manager for its Corporate division in Azuqueca de Henares, Spain. Reporting to the Lead & Utilities Commodity Director, you will define and execute the company’s energy sourcing strategy, balancing cost optimisation, supply security and sustainability goals.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare energy consumption and purchase forecasts for electricity and gas.
• Develop bidding documents and manage contract negotiations for gas and electricity.
• Apply technical and legal knowledge of new contracting models such as PPAs and GDOs.
• Monitor invoices, economic results and consumption trends, producing internal statistics and reports.
• Analyse market data, develop analytical tools and optimise procurement processes.
• Support Exide’s decarbonisation plan and identify funding or partnership opportunities.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience managing an energy portfolio, including hedging strategies.
• Education in engineering, administration, statistics or a related field.
• Strong database experience and advanced Excel skills.
• Ability to negotiate, interpret legal texts and understand regulatory frameworks.
• Knowledge of European electricity market agents (REE, OMIE, MEFF, TTF, TGE, PEG).
• Professional proficiency in English.
