Engineering Director – Lead Product Engineering

About the role

Proton is looking for an Engineering Director to lead the engineering effort for one of its existing or upcoming privacy‑focused products. The role will be a senior leadership position reporting to the engineering leadership team and working closely with product management.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the technical strategy for the assigned product.
• Lead and grow engineering teams, ensuring high‑velocity delivery of new features.
• Collaborate with senior product managers to align engineering output with product goals.
• Contribute to company‑wide technical direction and uphold Proton’s privacy‑centric mission.

Required profile

• Proven senior engineering leadership experience, preferably as a Director or Head of Engineering.
• Strong ability to set strategy, manage teams and deliver results in a fast‑growing environment.
• Adaptable mindset with a passion for privacy‑focused technology.
