IT Systems Engineer – Barcelona or Malta

About the role

We are seeking an IT Systems Engineer to join our growing team in Barcelona (or Malta). You will be responsible for configuring, maintaining, and overseeing the company’s IT resources, including networks, servers, workstations, printers, and cloud services, ensuring seamless functionality for all users.

Key responsibilities

• Design, configure, and maintain desktop infrastructure, operating systems, and applications following change‑management and security best practices.
• Proactively monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise network and cloud environments to minimise downtime.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights across platforms.
• Implement backups, disaster‑recovery, and business‑continuity processes.
• Maintain the IT asset register with accurate hardware, software, and licensing data.
• Use the internal ticketing system to track and resolve support requests promptly.
• Collaborate with third‑party contractors to ensure reliable software and system operation.
• Provide first‑line support, user training, and promote a culture of security.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience administering systems, networks, and cloud services.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant IT field.
• Industry certifications such as ITIL and vendor‑specific cloud, network, or hardware credentials.
• Strong knowledge of Windows, macOS, and mobile operating systems.
