Junior Hydraulics & Drainage Engineer

About the role

AECOM is hiring a Junior Hydraulics & Drainage Engineer to join its growing Madrid team, which delivers assessments, concepts, feasibility studies and detailed designs across water and transportation programmes. The team works with public and private clients, including Local Authorities and Design & Build contractors, and collaborates with experienced designers and engineers on drainage, stormwater, sewer and potable water network projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop network designs, technical drawings and engineering models using Civil 3D and industry-leading design tools.
• Take ownership of assigned tasks within a supportive team, following established methodologies and receiving guidance from experienced professionals.
• Ensure the quality and accuracy of work through self-checks before submission, and take part in peer reviews.

Required profile

• At least more than 2 years of experience in hydraulic and drainage design, infrastructure networks or related engineering projects.
• Fluent written and spoken English, able to collaborate in multicultural, international project teams.
• Proactive, enthusiastic about engineering challenges and open to continuous learning.

Required skills

• Strong working knowledge of Autodesk Civil 3D, including pipeline alignments, profiles, cross-sections, grading and surface modelling.
• Exposure to hydraulic and hydrological modelling tools such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, StormCAD, InfoWorks ICM, OpenRoads Designer or 12d; willingness to learn new tools is also valued.
