Mechanical Systems Integration & Design Engineer

About the role

This permanent position is for a Mechanical Systems Integration & Design Engineer within Airbus Defence & Space, based in the Getafe area of Spain. You will join the TADAM‑2 department in the Combat and UAV area, contributing to platforms such as Eurofighter, Eurodron, FCAS and SiRTAP.

Key responsibilities

• Define mechanical systems from system architecture and create component specifications.
• Produce manufacturing and installation documentation for aircraft assembly.
• Specify and select mechanical parts, ensuring appropriate manufacturing technologies.
• Interface with external partners, suppliers and internal stakeholders during design reviews, test reporting and project follow‑up meetings.
• Generate KPIs, maintain design manuals, and support configuration control across programmes.

Required profile

• Degree in Aeronautical Engineering or an equivalent discipline.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Proactive, motivated team player with the ability to accept design delegation.
• Commitment to continuous personal development and learning new skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CATIA and PDM/PLM tools.
• Knowledge of aircraft systems and structures design.
• Experience with fluid systems installations (hydraulic, fuel, pneumatic).
• Experience with equipment integration (sensors, antennas, lights).
• Ability to produce clear technical documentation.
