Operations HSE Specialist (F/M/D)

About the role

HITACHI ENERGY SPAIN, S.A.U. is looking for an Operations HSE Specialist in Madrid to lead and support HSE across Hitachi Energy's EU HUB operations. The role covers risk management, employee engagement, contractor safety, incident prevention and continuous improvement of HSE performance, and is full time with no remote work.

Key responsibilities

• Support business leaders in achieving HSE objectives and foster a positive safety culture
• Ensure compliance with legal, customer and corporate HSE requirements
• Conduct risk assessments and support effective mitigation measures
• Monitor HSE performance indicators and drive continuous improvement
• Lead incident investigations and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented
• Support contractor management, site inspections, audits and management reviews
• Deliver HSE training, awareness programmes and employee engagement initiatives
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and support sustainability and environmental compliance

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering or a related field; knowledge of high- and medium-voltage environments is highly valued
• 5 to 10 years of operational HSE experience, preferably in the energy sector
• Fluent English is mandatory; Spanish is an advantage
• Willingness to travel approximately 25-30% across Europe
