Plant Engineer

About the role

Join Tradebe as a Plant Engineer, responsible for optimizing hazardous waste incineration processes at the Fawley facility in the UK. The role begins with a 12‑month assignment in Barcelona to acquire deep technical knowledge before moving to the UK site.

Key responsibilities

• Acquire in‑depth knowledge of hazardous waste treatment technologies (biological, chemical, physical) during the Barcelona assignment.
• Collaborate with operations and process teams to understand and improve control systems, monitoring methods, and optimisation techniques.
• Transfer best practices from global sites to the UK plant and optimise processes for safety, compliance and efficiency.
• Lead troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis to resolve technical issues.
• Support engineering projects, including commissioning, testing and implementation of new equipment.
• Assist the Engineering Manager on investment projects and monitor KPIs to drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Chemical or General Engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience in chemical, environmental or process engineering.
• Strong understanding of plant operations, process optimisation and control systems; incineration experience is a plus.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills in multicultural environments.
• Project‑management experience using PRINCE2 or a similar framework.
