PwP Control Systems Engineer

About the role

A new role is open in the PowerPlant Control System department at Airbus Defence and Space, based in the Getafe area. The team works on aircraft powerplant system integration, combining modularity, flexibility and independence, and offers engineering challenges with continuous training.

Key responsibilities

• Propose new ideas for future control system architectures and identify customer needs, proposing optimal solutions.
• Design and integrate new and legacy powerplant control systems, and validate new design solutions.
• Design specific testing platforms for the products.
• Coordinate cross-team activities with engine manufacturers and analyse qualification and verification documentation for correct system integration.
• Support A/C test campaigns (labs and ground) as Design Office support.

Required profile

• Degree in Aeronautical, Industrial, Telecommunications or Computer Engineering.
• Demonstrable experience designing and developing control systems for complex applications, preferably in aerospace or defence, and in system testing campaigns.
• Open to travel when needed, with good communication skills and able to work independently and in a team.
• Excellent oral and written Spanish and English; other languages appreciated.

Required skills

• Control systems design, control theory, PLC programming logic, microcontrollers and communication buses (ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, CAN, AFDX).
• System maintenance (BITE concepts) and dataloading (ARINC 615A, 665, others).
• Modelling and simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink.
• Aerospace safety and certification standards (DO-178C, DO-254, CS25, CS23).
