QA Automation Engineer

About the role

Air Apps, a family-founded company building an AI-powered Personal & Entrepreneurial Resource Planner, is looking for a QA Automation Engineer. You will build and maintain automated test frameworks and regression test suites so that applications meet high quality standards, working closely with developers, product managers and QA teams. This is a fully onsite position at the Lisbon office, with relocation support offered.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain automated test frameworks for web and mobile applications.
• Create and run automated regression, functional, performance and API tests.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing.
• Work with development teams to ensure testability of features and early defect detection.
• Analyse test results, troubleshoot failures and report issues to developers.
• Identify critical scenarios and edge cases to improve test coverage.
• Help define quality standards and best practices, and stay up to date with automation tools and testing methods.

Required profile

• Around 3+ years of experience in test automation development.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Plus: knowledge of performance and load testing tools, and experience testing iOS and Android apps.

Required skills

• Test automation frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, Appium or Playwright.
• Programming in Python, Java, JavaScript or TypeScript.
• API testing with Postman, REST Assured or similar.
• CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI or CircleCI.
• Git and test management tools such as TestRail or Zephyr.
• Understanding of software testing principles, SDLC and agile methodologies.
