Regional Finance Director

About the role

We are seeking a Regional Finance Director to lead financial strategy and operations for a multi‑country portfolio based in Spain. The role combines high‑level financial governance with hands‑on support for donor‑funded programmes and strategic initiatives across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and oversight for regional financial management, ensuring compliance with organisational policies and donor requirements.
• Strengthen financial controls, reporting, reconciliations and audit processes across country teams.
• Monitor financial performance, identify risks and opportunities, and develop mitigation plans.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and resource allocation to improve programme effectiveness.
• Partner with senior leaders to deliver financial insights, risk analysis and recommendations for strategic decisions.
• Lead recruitment, coaching, mentoring and development of the regional finance team.
• Promote knowledge sharing, training and capacity building across finance and operational stakeholders.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in senior finance roles within international or multi‑country organisations.
• Proven track record of managing donor‑funded programmes and complex funding environments.
• Strong understanding of financial governance, compliance and audit standards.
• Excellent analytical and decision‑making skills with the ability to influence senior leadership.
