Reliability Engineer – Asset Availability Lead

About the role

The Reliability Engineer will maximise technical availability and asset reliability across all production lines. You will lead analytical problem‑solving initiatives, drive condition monitoring, and embed reliability into the maintenance strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the site Asset Reliability programme and own the Major Incident Report (MIR) and Analytical Problem Solving (APS) processes.
• Act as gatekeeper for root‑cause analysis (RCA) closure, ensuring coordinated improvements.
• Manage Condition Monitoring & Lubrication to move towards a zero planned‑maintenance‑time concept.
• Support planning of corrective and preventative work, applying design‑out methods (DOM) for OEM and new investments.
• Use the CMMS to generate analytical data, top‑10 frequency/cost/downtime reports, Pareto analyses and hot‑spot identification.
• Drive value from the preventive‑maintenance system and promote a “Less Is More” culture.
• Maintain the site criticality programme, integrating RCM protocols and reviewing existing maintenance (REM) processes.
• Back‑up the maintenance supervisor during peak periods and holidays.

Required profile

• HND or Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years experience in FMCG manufacturing environments.
• 2–3 years experience in people management or direct supervision.
• Strong decision‑making, communication and facilitation abilities.
• Green Belt Six Sigma, RCA, analytical problem‑solving, RCM, PFMEA and FMEA qualifications.
