SAP FI-AP Consultant – Remote (Spain)

About the role

BASF Coatings is looking for an SAP FI-AP Consultant to join its Digital Solutions & IT Architecture unit. The role focuses on designing and implementing SAP Finance (FI) and Accounts Payable (AP) solutions, initially for a global invoice‑processing project, while supporting interfaces to satellite systems.

Key responsibilities

• Define and select the optimal technical implementation of FI and AP processes for a global invoice‑processing initiative.
• Take technical responsibility for interfaces between SAP and satellite systems.
• Collaborate with Global and Regional Process Owners and the Controlling & Finance digitalisation teams.
• Support the evolution of a standalone FI and AP architecture and enforce quality standards.
• Design, customise, code and integrate SAP solutions in partnership with implementation partners.
• Provide 2nd‑level support for Application Managed Services, analysing critical incidents in production.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Informatics, Computer Science or Business Administration with an IT focus.
• Several years of experience in global IT projects, preferably with SAP S/4HANA FI.
• Strong communication and presentation skills in English and Spanish.
• Analytical mindset and a collaborative attitude.

Required skills

• SAP S/4HANA FI module (customisation, coding, integration).
• Invoice‑processing expertise within SAP FI.
• Knowledge of related SAP modules (SD, MM) – a plus.
• Familiarity with Process Director – a plus.
• Experience with interface description methods and data‑architecture tools.
