Secondary Sciences Teacher

About the role

Newton College is seeking a passionate Secondary Sciences Teacher to join its vibrant learning community. You will be responsible for delivering high‑quality science education to secondary‑level pupils, fostering a lifelong love of learning and supporting each student’s academic progress.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver the science curriculum to the assigned age and ability groups.
• Prepare and develop teaching materials, programmes, and lesson plans.
• Assess, monitor, and record pupil progress, using data to set challenging objectives.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including SEN, gifted, EAL, and those with disabilities.
• Promote high standards of literacy and, where applicable, early reading strategies such as systematic synthetic phonics.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external agencies to support pupil welfare and safeguarding.
