Segundo Jefe de Cocina – Granada Congress

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Second Chef to support the Head Chef at the Barceló Granada Congress hotel. The role involves overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring quality standards and contributing to the department’s revenue targets.

Key responsibilities

• Assist and stand in for the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen processes.
• Implement sales plans and drive revenue through promotional activities.
• Organise and coordinate all kitchen services across the property.
• Control food and labour costs by managing resources efficiently.
• Lead, train and motivate kitchen staff, fostering skill development.
• Monitor and maintain service quality to meet guest expectations.

Required profile

• Higher Vocational Training in Kitchen Management or Hospitality, or a degree in Tourism; HACCP certification.
• At least 1 year of experience in a similar kitchen leadership role.
• High level of English is desirable.
• Knowledge of office software and kitchen equipment.
• Strong sensory memory, creativity and manual dexterity.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, customer‑focused and team‑oriented.
• Ability to solve unexpected problems, make decisions and analyse tasks meticulously.
• Proven capability to plan, organise and develop a team.

Required skills

• HACCP / food safety standards.
• Microsoft Office (or equivalent office suite).
• Knowledge of kitchen machinery and utensils.
