Senior Data Engineer - Evinova

About the role

Evinova, a healthtech leader, is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to build and automate its data foundation so that its products, data science and agents can deliver leading capabilities. The role is in-office in Barcelona with a minimum of three days per week on site, and no remote or travel flexibility. You will help design and implement the cloud-based data lakehouse, catalogue, pipelines and operational frameworks, and mentor other engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement data infrastructure in the Lakehouse, catalogue, pipelines and operational frameworks, and find new ways to automate and optimize it.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and peers, sharing expertise in cloud data tools, patterns, optimizations and best practices.
• Partner with product management and security teams to align data strategy with business goals.

Required profile

• 7+ years of hands-on data engineering, with strong experience in SaaS and multi-tenant data platforms.
• Proven track record of mentoring others on data platform projects.
• Good knowledge of AWS services, containerization and orchestration, and CI/CD tools.
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.

Required skills

• AWS: Lake Formation, Glue, Athena, EMR/Redshift Serverless, S3 Tables, Iceberg or Delta Lake, Kinesis Data Streams or MSK, AWS CDK (TypeScript) or CloudFormation, GitHub Actions, Terraform.
• Data modelling: dimensional models, event schemas, slowly changing dimensions.
• Governance and security: column-level and row-level security, tagging, IAM, KMS, NIST.
• ETL and pipelines: Python, PySpark or Spark Scala, AWS Glue, Kinesis, Managed Kafka.
• Monitoring: OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch.
• Desired: advanced AWS CDK, multi-account management with AWS Control Tower, AI tool exposure.
