Senior IT Systems Engineer – Wintel & Virtualization

About the role

Grifols is seeking a Senior IT Systems Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of its global Wintel and virtualization infrastructure. You will act as the technical product owner, ensuring high availability, scalability, and alignment with business goals.

Key responsibilities

• Acquire deep technical knowledge of virtualization services and act as the technical reference for the organization.
• Own the Wintel and virtualization platforms, managing their lifecycle and driving continuous improvement.
• Define and implement the technical roadmap, best practices, guidelines, and standards.
• Assess, optimise, and evolve the global infrastructure, including high‑availability clusters and disaster‑recovery designs.
• Collaborate on cross‑functional strategic projects and supervise external providers to meet timelines and budgets.
• Maintain strong relationships with internal clients and colleagues to achieve shared objectives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
• Excellent communication, conflict‑resolution and problem‑solving abilities.
• Analytical mindset with strong prioritisation and decision‑making based on business impact.
• Versatile, eager to learn and continuously improve.
• Hands‑on experience in high‑availability environments, stretched clusters and disaster‑recovery execution.

Required skills

• Windows Server, Windows Admin Center, Clustering technologies.
• DNS, DFS, NAS, File Services, IIS, FTP, printer services and OS patching solutions.
• Virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper‑V).
• Infrastructure‑as‑Code tools: Terraform and Ansible.
