Associate Data Scientist – Deals Team

About the role

PwC Deals is seeking a Junior Data Scientist to help uncover insights from large data sets and support clients in making smarter decisions. The role focuses on developing machine‑learning, time‑series and ad‑hoc models across various sectors and integrating solutions into client services.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement state‑of‑the‑art models such as clustering, classification, sentiment analysis, forecasting and web scraping.
• Enhance data collection processes and incorporate third‑party data sources when needed.
• Process, cleanse and verify data integrity for analysis.
• Perform ad‑hoc analyses and present results through clear data visualisations.
• Develop GIS and text‑analytics solutions.
• Collaborate with project teams using Azure and GitHub.

Required profile

• University degree in a STEM discipline (Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Physics or Engineering).
• Master’s degree in Data and Analytics is desirable.
• 0‑2 years of experience in data science or analytics.
• Proficiency in Spanish and English with strong communication skills.
• Data‑oriented personality and ability to work in a team.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• Machine‑learning techniques (k‑NN, Naive Bayes, SVM, Random Forest, etc.).
• Statistical methods (distributions, hypothesis testing, regression).
• Data‑visualisation tools such as Power BI, Power Query or Power Pivot.
• GIS and text‑analytics development.
• Experience with Azure cloud services and GitHub version control.
• Web scraping and data cleaning.
