BIM Manager - Transportation Projects

About the role

AECOM is looking for a BIM Manager to support international transportation projects. The role is not purely administrative: it is an information manager embedded in design delivery who understands how engineering data is structured, produced and exchanged in the Bentley ecosystem. The position is based in Madrid.

Key responsibilities

• Configure, administer and maintain Bentley ProjectWise environments for multi-office, multi-discipline transportation programmes, including folder schemas, metadata, workflows, permissions and document lifecycles
• Manage integrations between ProjectWise and Bentley design tools, monitor system performance and coordinate with IT and platform teams
• Develop templates and automation to improve onboarding and reduce manual setup
• Configure ProjectWise workspaces and worksets, support OpenRoads Designer and OpenRail Designer, and manage DGN structures, model hierarchies and discipline outputs
• Support onboarding of project teams and supply chain partners, and engage with clients on CDE configuration, compliance and reporting
• Deliver training, user guides and best-practice documentation for design teams
• Implement information management aligned with BIM execution plans, enforce naming conventions, revision control and auditability, and define quality checks for metadata and deliverables
• Produce reports on workflow compliance, deliverable status and usage metrics, and drive continuous improvement of templates and processes

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Design Technology or Construction Technology, or a related discipline
• 7+ years of experience in BIM and digital delivery, including a previous formal multidisciplinary BIM Manager/Coordinator role
• Experience managing ProjectWise environments and workspaces in multi-discipline, multi-office settings
• Experience in transportation infrastructure such as highways, rail, bridges, tunnels or other complex linear assets
• Fluent professional English; Polish and/or Spanish is beneficial but not required

Required skills

• Bentley applications: OpenRoads Designer and/or OpenRail Designer, and knowledge of ISO 19650
• Familiarity with tools such as iTwin, SYNCHRO, MicroStation, OpenBridge, Bentley Infrastructure Cloud, Bentley 365, ProjectWise Explorer, ProjectWise Drive and Power BI reporting or automation
