Business Lead of Insurance

About the role

ING is looking for a Business Lead of Insurance to join its Insurance Tribe in Madrid. The role shapes, grows and transforms the core insurance business, including Home, Life and Payment Protection Insurance (PPI), and defines ING Spain's future insurance strategy. It combines strategy, commercial development, partnership management, product innovation and execution, and reports directly to the Tribe Lead.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the strategic roadmap for the core insurance portfolio and set commercial ambitions and targets (sales, APE, GWP, profitability).
• Lead the evolution of existing products, design new customer value propositions and drive the end-to-end setup and launch of new products.
• Build and manage relationships with insurance partners, lead RfP processes, insurer selection and negotiations, and act as the senior representative of the products externally.
• Own portfolio growth plans and commercial performance, improving acquisition, conversion, retention and customer lifetime value.
• Lead and develop a team of business strategy professionals.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of proven experience in the insurance industry, covering both Life and Non-Life products.
• Experience defining and executing growth strategies, managing insurance providers and partnerships, and leading RfP processes.
• Proven ability to lead high-performing teams and complex cross-functional initiatives.
• Fluent English.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of insurance products, distribution models, partnerships and commercial dynamics.
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, including with senior executives.
• Analytical and strategic thinking, and experience in agile, multidisciplinary environments.
