Cloud Security Automation Engineer (AWS)

About the role

Join the Cloud Security Automation team at Santander's Open Digital Services (ODS) in Madrid. You will help build a secure, scalable, and resilient AWS foundation by automating security controls and embedding security into the development lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks for security operations across AWS environments.
• Identify manual security tasks and convert them into automated, repeatable workflows.
• Use Infrastructure as Code and policy‑as‑code (e.g., CloudFormation, AWS native controls) to enforce governance.
• Implement continuous compliance checks and automated remediation playbooks.
• Develop detection and response capabilities with GuardDuty, Security Hub, CloudTrail, and integrate them with SIEM/SOAR platforms.
• Collaborate with platform, DevOps, and development teams to embed security automation into CI/CD pipelines.

Required profile

• Strong Python programming skills.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS services and cloud automation.
• Ability to work autonomously, prioritize tasks, and collaborate in a fast‑moving environment.
• Cybersecurity background is a plus.
