Composite ME Specialist

About the role

This position is part of the ODAMVC (Composite Manufacturing Technologies) team within Manufacturing Engineering at the Airbus Cádiz site. The team drives R&T projects, new product industrialisation and links the Airbus composite ecosystem with the plant, bringing the latest technology advances to the shop floor.

Key responsibilities

• Lead Collaborative Design for Manufacturing (Co‑Design/Co‑Industrialisation) activities.
• Integrate industrial requirements across all design phases and drive them towards Engineering and Supply Chain.
• Define and design the detailed build process for Manufacturing Engineering.
• Ensure robust, reliable and safe execution of operations, complying with health and safety regulations.
• Organise and support Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA/FMEA) and manage technical engineering information.
• Participate in quality control panels, provide measurement tasks and ensure process capability.
• Define component specifications and support tooling and jig activities.
• Contribute to supply‑chain management, ensuring data consistency and addressing missing parts, stock and MRP impacts.
• Interface with maintenance teams for operational needs and manage work‑preparation issues escalated by production.
• Support continuous plant improvement, advise on budget and CAPEX planning, and evaluate industrial impact of modifications.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in Composite Manufacturing Engineering and R&T activities.
• Strong knowledge of composite materials and manufacturing processes.
• Proven analytical thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
• Deep understanding of the industrial infrastructure required for composite manufacturing.
• Strong team‑working and open‑minded spirit.

Required skills

• Autonomous user of CATIA, including Generative Shape Design and Composite Design modules.
• Advanced user of Google tools with experience applying Artificial Intelligence to daily tasks.
• Experience with composite inspection methods, especially nondestructive testing (NDT).
