Industrial Manager (Bronze) - Launcher Products

About the role

A position of Industrial Manager (Bronze) for Launcher products has opened within Airbus Defence & Space, Space Systems in Getafe (Madrid), within the Spain Future Programmes department (TSOAS). The role covers proposal preparation for Launcher products (structures, constellation dispensers, adapters and separation systems) for institutional and export markets, from initial studies and trade-offs through to contract negotiation and hand-over to the Launchers Programme for execution. It leads the industrial and/or development activities of the bid, coordinates stakeholders and contributes to preparing for larger Project Management roles.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all industrial and development activities for proposals and studies leading to a competitive bid and a robust project implementation phase
• Analyse project drivers, risks and interdependencies, and define the development approach and sequence
• Elaborate the Development Plan, including roadmap, schedule, critical path, models policy and AIV strategy
• Define the industrial setup baseline and alternatives, and coordinate with the procurement team on procurement, RFI/RFP and long-term supplier agreements
• Contribute to the Launcher products roadmap, industrial consortium definition and Make or Buy decisions
• Take part in costing exercises and design-to-value processes, and involve the customer in the process
• Manage business travel in Europe on a quarterly basis

Required profile

• Masters degree in Engineering
• 5 years' experience in engineering, industrial management or project management in the space industry (launcher products a plus)
• 3 years in project management or an operational project team in the space industry
• On-going Airbus PM certification for Bronze level; having led an implementation-phase bid is a plus
• Team leadership, decision-making and business development skills
• Advanced or fluent English and Spanish; French, German or Italian a plus
