Internship – Real Time Filtering for Photogrammetry (XPLORER 2027)

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space is offering a six‑month curricular practicum in Getafe, Spain, focused on real‑time filtering for photogrammetry. The internship is part of the XPLORER 2027 project and will serve as the student’s final year training project (TFG). You will work with the Flight and Integration Test Centre to develop a prototype that generates synthetic data for machine‑learning training and simulation.

Key responsibilities

• Study the state of the art and design a prototype for synthetic aircraft and avionics symbology data generation.
• Integrate the prototype with Airbus simulation tools, including automatic labeling, 3D terrain mesh reconstruction, and addition of satellite imagery, weather, and cockpit displays.
• Collaborate with a tutor for continuous monitoring and deliver a documented final project.

Required profile

• Engineering degree student in the final year, fluent in English and Spanish (C1).
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and teamwork skills with a proactive attitude.

Required skills

• Software development proficiency, preferably in Python (C/C++ a plus).
• Experience with CAD 3D, 3D simulation, and computer‑vision techniques.
• Familiarity with Unreal Engine or a similar real‑time engine.

What we offer

• Internship (curricular practicum) combined with a Bachelor’s Degree Final Project (TFG).
• Six‑month part‑time schedule (5 h/day, 25 h/week) from February to July 2026.
• Tutor assignment for continuous monitoring and professional development.
