IT Data Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an IT Data Engineer to join the Customer Personalization team at REWE digital Spain, based in the Technological Park of Andalusia (PTA) in Malaga. In this role you will help build and operate data pipelines that feed recommendation engines and personalized coupon offers for millions of retail customers.

Key responsibilities

• Ingest, clean, and integrate data from multiple sources.
• Support development and operation of the recommendation engine.
• Apply machine learning and advanced analytics to analyze customer behavior.
• Generate personalized coupon recommendations for loyalty‑program members.
• Collaborate with product and data teams to improve system performance and scalability.

Required profile

• Strong sense of ownership and ability to work in cross‑functional analytical teams.
• Experience with analytical databases, especially Snowflake.
• Familiarity with agile development practices.
• Ability to ensure data quality, modeling, and observability.

• Python (including PySpark, Pandas, dbt‑core)
