IT Project Manager SAP S/4HANA

About the role

Sulzer is looking for an experienced IT Project Manager SAP S/4HANA to join its Business Transformation Program and help shape the design, implementation and rollout of Sulzer's global SAP S/4HANA template. The role works closely with program leadership, business stakeholders and implementation partners, providing expert guidance, governance and quality assurance. It is based in the Nuevos Ministerios area of Madrid.

Key responsibilities

• Lead quality assurance across all phases of the SAP S/4HANA transformation program, including quality gates, review frameworks and acceptance criteria.
• Review solution designs and technical deliverables against business requirements and SAP best practices, and promote SAP Clean Core principles.
• Conduct phase-gate and readiness reviews, assess project risks, dependencies and mitigation plans, and advise program leadership and stakeholders.
• Facilitate collaboration between business teams, IT functions, SAP specialists and implementation partners, and review partner deliverables, estimates and design recommendations.
• Challenge solutions that add unnecessary complexity, risk or long-term maintenance effort, and support future-state process design and operating model decisions.
• Share industry best practices, drive continuous improvement through lessons learned, and support knowledge transfer and capability development.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline.
• More than 15 years of experience in SAP consulting, solution architecture, transformation leadership or program governance.
• At least 5 to 6 years of SAP S/4HANA implementation experience, including large-scale global transformation programs.
• Experience with global template design, fit-to-standard workshops, solution governance and design reviews.
• Deep understanding of manufacturing, engineering, project-based, ETO, CTO and service environments.
• Fluent English; willingness to travel internationally (about 25% or more).
• Preferred: knowledge of Spanish, SAP BTP and integration technologies, data migration tools, hybrid and on-premises environments, and SAP S/4HANA, Activate, Integration and BTP certifications.
