Junior Technical Architect – Cloud & Microservices

About the role

Santander Technology & Operations is seeking a Junior Technical Architect to join its cloud engineering team in Boadilla del Monte, Spain. You will work on defining and evolving reference architectures for event‑driven, microservices and serverless solutions that support the bank’s global digital platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Define and evolve cloud reference architectures for Event‑Driven, Microservices and Serverless domains.
• Create architectural blueprints, patterns and best‑practice guidelines.
• Design robust, scalable, secure and observable solutions across the full software development lifecycle.
• Develop technical solutions for projects and cloud platforms based on established reference architectures.
• Execute proofs of concept, product certification, benchmarking and technology observatory activities.

Required profile

• Technical University degree (post‑graduate studies a plus).
• Experience with native cloud design patterns such as communication, connectivity, data management, event‑driven, stream‑processing and API management.
• Background in enterprise and technical architecture design.
• Fundamental knowledge of data storage, networking, security and monitoring.
