M&A Analyst – SCIB

About the role

Santander Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) is seeking an M&A Analyst to join its Madrid office. You will work on live, complex transactions, supporting both origination and execution while gaining exposure to senior bankers and cross‑border deal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Build and review detailed financial models, including operating models, DCFs, merger and accretion/dilution analyses, and valuation frameworks.
• Perform valuation work using DCF, trading comparables, precedent transactions and sector‑specific approaches.
• Prepare high‑quality client materials such as pitch books, strategic reviews, management presentations, information memoranda and board documents.
• Support live transaction execution across M&A and IPO processes, coordinating due diligence, managing workstreams and interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
• Conduct detailed sector, company, investor and transaction analysis across EMEA and monitor market developments, valuation trends and regulatory themes.

• Proactive and responsible approach toward risk management.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to handle complex financial data.
• Interest in working on cross‑border transactions and collaborating with senior deal teams.
