Mechanical Engineer – Space & Defence (Hybrid)

About the role

Indra Space is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join its European space systems team. You will work on high‑performance small‑satellite solutions for LEO missions, contributing to the design, validation and documentation of mechanical systems used in defence and space applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design and validate mechanical systems for defence and space projects.
• Participate in engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Prepare and manage technical dossiers and engineering documentation.
• Develop and maintain mechanical designs using CAD tools.
• Perform engineering analyses with Python for mathematical and numerical calculations.
• Use SAP and PLM tools for configuration, documentation and lifecycle management.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated system solutions.
• Support compliance with internal processes and sector‑specific engineering requirements.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical, Naval or Aerospace Engineering.
• More than 5 years of professional experience in mechanical engineering.
• Experience in defence and space sectors.
• Advanced knowledge of mechanical system design and validation.
• Professional fluency in English.

Required skills

• Siemens NX (CAD) – 3‑4 years.
• Python for mathematical and numerical analysis.
• SAP.
• PLM tools.
